A note from Mary

You don't have to keep carrying this alone.

Reaching out for therapy takes real courage. If you've been quietly spinning in overthinking, second-guessing yourself, or feeling distant from someone you love — you're in the right place.

My work is gentle, honest, and deeply collaborative. Together we'll understand what's keeping you stuck, so something can actually shift — in how you feel, in how you relate, and in how you meet yourself.

Signs therapy could help right now

01 You replay conversations and decisions for hours, searching for the "right" answer.
02 "What if" thoughts keep you up at night and you can't quiet them.
03 You're questioning your relationship — and then questioning whether the questioning is the problem.
04 You and your partner keep landing in the same fight, just with different words.
05 You feel emotionally distant from your partner, and you're not sure how it happened.
06 You seek reassurance constantly — but it never quite lands.
07 Your faith feels tangled up with anxiety, and you want a therapist who understands both.
08 You're tired of managing it on your own, and ready for something to genuinely shift.
Areas of Focus & Specialized Services

How I can help.

I work with both individuals and couples, going beyond general talk therapy with gold-standard, evidence-based treatments tailored to what you're actually dealing with. Whether it's OCD, anxiety, depression, or the patterns straining your relationship — we work on it with real tools, at your pace.

OCD & Anxiety Disorders

Specialized treatment that moves beyond talk therapy to the most effective approaches available.

ERP · Exposure and Response Prevention
The gold-standard treatment for OCD — breaking the cycle of obsessions and compulsions.

CBT · Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Identifying and restructuring the thought patterns that fuel anxiety and panic.

Subtype Focus
ROCD (Relationship OCD), Scrupulosity, and Harm OCD.

Couples & Relationship Counseling

Relationships are the foundation of our well-being. I help couples navigate conflict and deepen their connection using a Psychodynamic approach.

We explore how individual histories and attachment styles influence your current partnership — helping you build a more secure, resilient bond. Whether you're caught in recurring conflict, feeling emotionally distant, or navigating a major transition together, therapy can help you reconnect.

Depression & Life Transitions

Navigating life's shifts — especially during the teenage years or through major adult transitions — can feel overwhelming. Using CBT and a person-centered approach, we work to manage symptoms of depression, build self-esteem, and regain a sense of purpose and agency.

Faith-Integrated Therapy

For those who desire it: respectful support in navigating anxiety, scrupulosity, and life decisions within a Christian framework.

Sleep & Trauma: Nightmare Recovery

Recurring nightmares don't have to run your nights. Using Image Rehearsal Therapy (IRT), a brief, evidence-based approach, we reduce nightmare frequency and intensity so you can reclaim restful sleep.

Also working with: ADHD · Infidelity · Marriage · Mood Disorders · Teens & Adults

Mary Therese Ibrahim, LICSW — warm, structured therapy approach
My Approach

Warm, structured, and tailored to you.

No two people are the same — and neither is their therapy. For OCD and anxiety, I use ERP and CBT: structured, gold-standard treatments that go beyond talk therapy to break the cycles keeping you stuck.

In couples work, I take a Psychodynamic approach — exploring how your individual histories and attachment styles shape your partnership, so you can build a more secure and resilient bond. Everything is tailored to who you are and what you need right now.

Common Questions

Things people often ask

What happens in the free consultation?

We'll spend about 15 minutes on the phone getting to know each other. You can share a little about what's bringing you in, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether we'd be a good fit — with no pressure or commitment.

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

I provide virtual therapy only, and see clients across all of Massachusetts. Telehealth makes it easier to fit therapy into a real life — no commute, no waiting room, just a private space wherever you are.

Do you take insurance?

I'm an out-of-network provider, which means clients pay directly and I provide superbills you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. It's worth checking your plan's out-of-network benefits.

What does "faith-integrated" mean?

For clients who want it, I can integrate Christian faith into our work — including anxiety, decision-making, and your relationship with God. It's entirely your choice; I meet you where you are.

Do you work with couples?

Yes — a large part of my practice is couples work focused on reducing reactivity, breaking conflict cycles, and helping partners feel connected and understood again.

How do I get started?

Call or email me for a free 15-minute consultation. From there, if it feels like a fit, we'll schedule your first session. Reaching out is the hardest part — I'll take it from there.
