Therapy for Women

Support for women navigating emotional health, relationships, identity, life transitions, and the effects of hormonal and reproductive changes.

Virtual sessions across Massachusetts, Tennessee, Virginia, and New York

A note on hormonal and reproductive health: Psychotherapy can offer real support for the emotional effects of hormonal or reproductive changes, including shifts in mood, anxiety, and adjustment during pregnancy, after birth, or during perimenopause.

It is not a substitute for evaluation or treatment from a physician or other medical provider. If you are noticing new or significant changes in your mood, cycle, or physical health, I would encourage you to also connect with your doctor or OB-GYN, and I am glad to support you alongside that care.

Hormones and Emotional Well-Being

Shifts in mood, anxiety, irritability, energy, or emotional sensitivity can happen alongside hormonal changes throughout the month or across different life stages. We will work on understanding your patterns and building tools to feel steadier, even when your body is going through change.

Menstrual and Reproductive Changes

Difficult cycles, fertility concerns, pregnancy-related changes, postpartum adjustment, and perimenopause all come with real emotional weight. I offer a supportive space to process what you are experiencing alongside the medical care you are already receiving.

Relationships and Boundaries

We will look at patterns that no longer serve you, practice communicating your needs clearly, and work on setting boundaries that protect your energy, so your relationships can become more secure and mutual.

Identity and Self-Worth

Self-criticism, people-pleasing, comparison, body-image concerns, and pressure to meet everyone else's expectations can quietly erode your sense of self. We will work on building a steadier, kinder relationship with yourself.

Overwhelm and Emotional Regulation

When everything feels like too much, it is easy to either shut down or become flooded. We will work on identifying what you are feeling, managing stress in the moment, and responding more intentionally rather than reactively.

Life Transitions

Marriage, motherhood, career changes, relocation, grief, and shifts in relationships are all major adjustments, even the ones you chose. Therapy gives you a space to process the transition and find your footing again.

How therapy can help

Wherever you are, physically or emotionally, you deserve care that takes the whole picture into account. Together we will build tools that fit your actual life, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Common Questions

About therapy for women

Can therapy help with mood changes related to my cycle or hormones?

Yes, we can work on understanding your patterns and building tools to manage mood shifts, irritability, or anxiety connected to hormonal changes. This work is supportive and does not replace care from your doctor or OB-GYN.

Do you offer support during pregnancy or postpartum?

I offer general emotional support during pregnancy and postpartum adjustment alongside your medical care. If you need more focused perinatal mental health treatment, I am happy to help you find additional resources.

What if I am dealing with several things at once, like anxiety, a difficult relationship, and burnout?

That is very common, and you do not need to separate these into different appointments. We will look at the whole picture together and build a plan that fits what you are actually navigating.
